متن کاملGraphene mode-locked ultrafast laser.
Graphene is at the center of a significant research effort. Near-ballistic transport at room temperature and high mobility make it a potential material for nanoelectronics. Its electronic and mechanical properties are also ideal for micro- and nanomechanical systems, thin-film transistors, and transparent and conductive composites and electrodes. Here we exploit the optoelectronic properties of...
متن کاملKerr - lens mode - locked femtosecond laser
We have measured the frequency of the 6s S1/2 − 5d D3/2 electricquadrupole transition of Yb with a relative uncertainty of 1 × 10, νY b = 688 358 979 309 312 Hz ± 6 Hz. A femtosecond frequency comb generator was used to phase-coherently link the optical frequency derived from a single trapped ion to a cesium fountain controlled hydrogen maser. This measurement is one of the most accurate measur...
متن کاملFemtosecond synchronously mode-locked vertical-external cavity surface-emitting laser.
The behavior of a room temperature synchronously mode-locked vertical-external cavity surface-emitting laser (VECSEL) operating at 980 nm is reported. The laser performance was found to be qualitatively the same for different pump pulse duration (3.6 ps and 70 fs). The pulse duration of the laser is limited by strong self-phase modulation to around 10-40 ps. By compressing the strongly chirped ...
متن کاملSelf-starting self-mode-locked femtosecond diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF laser.
We describe a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr(3+):LiSrAlF(6) laser that produces 50 mW of 70-fs pulses in the 820-890-nm range when pumped by two red diodes of 400 mW each. By using a lower-transmission output coupler we have demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge a self-starting regime with an output power of 10 mW and 55-fs pulses.
